Celebrity weddings are always highly anticipated — but a wedding in one of Pakistan’s most famous political dynasties kicks up the excitement to the next level. Pakistan People’s Party formally announced that Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari was set to be engaged after the invitation card made rounds on social media. So, the wait is over. Bakhtawar Bhutto got engaged to Mahmood Chaudhary, the son of UAE-based businessman Younas Chaudhary yesterday! Here are some highlights of the engagement!
The engagement took place at Bilawal House in Karachi that will also be the venue of the couple’s Mehndi, scheduled for January 27, 2021.
Bakhtawar proved every rumor wrong that she would recreate her mother’s Nikkah look on her engagement. Bakhtawar and her fiancé Mahmood Chaudhary wore traditional Pakistani dresses in their engagement ceremony. They preserved the sentimental value of the Pakistani dress code.
Bakhtawar looked resplendent in an elegant peach-colored outfit, while Mahmood was clad in a white-colored attire, minimal jewelry, and a beautifully crafted Mughal-inspired statement shawl. No doubt, Bakhtawar is blessed with a natural glow and rosy cheeks. She chose to accentuate her features by keeping her engagement look simple and makeup-free that made her look like an absolute timeless beauty!
It was an outdoor ceremony, and no member of the Bilawal House Karachi staff was allowed inside unless they have undergone a coronavirus PCR test. All guests were required to ensure they comply with the coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Furthermore, a catering committee was set up to exclusively entertain the Chaudhrys while the team tasked with decorations will complete all their work by tonight. Asif Zardari personally monitored all arrangements for his daughter’s engagement.
Bakhtawar Bhutto and Mahmood Chaudhry exchanged rings in the presence of guests in the open area of Bilawal House, Karachi. No photography or mobile phones were permitted inside the venue. Bakhtawar Bhutto later shared a picture of her and her fiancé Mahmood Choudhry, with a portrait of her late mother Benazir Bhutto in the background, on her social media accounts.
Due to the second wave of coronavirus, close friends and family members were invited to attend the engagement ceremony including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders, senior politicians, real estate tycoons, business giants, eminent lawyers, some legislators, and close relatives.
Asif Ali Zardari attended the engagement ceremony for a short duration due to his health condition, while PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari joined the ceremony through a video link as he was tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.
Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, sister of Benazir Sanam Bhutto, PPP leader Dr. Asim Hussain, Omni Group Chairman Khawaja Anwar Majeed, and others also attended the ceremony.
However, after giving the engagement highlights, they are headed towards the important part of their lives. The couple is scheduled to hold their Mehndi on 27th January 2021. We wish them good luck in their life together and hope that their future is filled with love and prosperity! Your thoughts are appreciated!
